Here at SoFlo Bucketlist, we seek to give you an honest look at all the exciting places that South Florida has to offer. In keeping with that promise, we would be lying if we said that getting around this area is easy and stress-free. Indeed, ask many South Floridians what their least favorite part about living here is, and they'll often answer "the traffic!"
Luckily, we have some tips on how you can get around while enjoying the many destinations we cover on our Instagram and Facebook.

Traveling by Road
When possible, you should avoid driving during the morning and evening rush hour, generally considered to be 7-9 AM and 4-6 PM. Journey times can easily double on the most congested roadways during this time. If you are a resident, you should consider purchasing a SunPass, which allows you to use express lanes on I-95 and I-75. Be ready to use your defensive driving skills here, as drivers in this area are known to be aggressive.

Traveling by Rail
If you want to bypass traffic, traveling by train is one of the best ways to get around South Florida. Tri-Rail commuter trains offer service between Miami Airport and West Palm Beach with 18 stops in between, while Brightline is a high-speed, luxury train service with stations in Downtown Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm beach, with extensions under construction to Orlando and Tampa.

Traveling by Ferry
Want to enjoy the beautiful turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico on your journey? Key West Express is a ferry service with daily trips between Marco Island or Fort Myers and Key West. Travelers to the Bahamas can also book speedy ferry service to Bimini and Freeport from Fort Lauderdale. Just don't forget to bring your seasickness patches!

Traveling by Air
Flying into or out of South Florida is easier than ever. The region is served by 5 major airports:
Miami Int'l Airport
Fort Lauderdale - Hollywood Int'l
West Palm Beach Int'l
Southwest Florida Int'l(Naples/Ft. Myers)
Key West Airport
When flying in the summer and fall, avoid flights that depart in the evening, as these are often delayed due to thunderstorms.
